what is active meditation?
We normally think of meditation as something that happens when we sit motionless and in silence. In today’s hectic and highly stressful world, complete inactivity and a quiet mind can be difficult to achieve. By using active meditation techniques, such as dance, movement, breath, humming and free expression, even the busiest minds can experience silent gaps of inner peace during the stillness.
Active meditation practices are typically comprised of two to four sections. For example, Osho's Kundalini meditation has four parts–shaking, dancing, silent sitting and lying down. Each meditation follows pre-recorded music, which helps to enhance the overall experience as well as move the meditator seamlessly between stages.
